POELLATH advises the shareholders of VEDA GmbH on investment by Investcorp Technology Partners

Investcorp Technology Partners (“ITP”), the global technology arm of investment firm Investcorp, has acquired a majority stake in VEDA GmbH (“VEDA”), a leading provider of HR software and digital payroll-as-a-service in the DACH region. The CEO of VEDA, Ralf Graessler, will remain invested in the company alongside Investcorp. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transaction. The closing of the transaction is still subject to the customary regulatory approvals. POELLATH provided legal and tax advice to the shareholders of VEDA GmbH in connection with the investment and the re-investment.

Founded in 1977 and based in Alsdorf (near Aachen), VEDA GmbH offers a platform solution for digital personnel management. Their offering includes solutions for recruiting, onboarding, personnel management, talent management, learning & development, payroll, personnel scheduling and time & security. VEDA has around 1,200 customers, including MAN, Lufthansa and many medium-sized companies, and employs around 170 people.

Investcorp Technology Partners is a leading global investor specializing in investments in technology companies in the lower mid-market (medium-sized companies). The company focuses on industries such as software, data/analytics, cybersecurity and fintech and bolsters companies by expanding their products and services, particularly in cloud technologies. As VEDA’s first institutional investor, ITP will contribute to further expanding VEDA’s market position as a leading provider of HR cloud software and services.
